Ion Hotel

Minarc Architects

Ion hotel is one of a kind. From its location to its architecture, this place has it all.

Located between Nesjavellir geothermal site and Þingvellir National Park. A minimalist cantilever with exposed concrete and corrugated metal emerges between the lava fields. Given its peculiar location, the architects preferred to use raw materials to blend seamlessly with the surroundings. Thus creating a perfect symbiosis the building and the landscape.
